Kim K dons vintage necklace famously worn by Princess Diana

Blake Lively, Kaia Gerber, and Kim Kardashian were among the celebrities in attendance at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art's (LACMA) annual Art + Film Gala on Saturday, 2 November.

The annual event is a glamorous affair, held to celebrate the intersection of art and cinema as well as the museum itself.

This year, Gucci once again served as the event's presenter, ensuring many stars were pictured walking the carpet in dazzling outfits from the fashion house.

Kim Kardashian wore a particularly eye-catching look on the night, donning a vintage Garrard necklace that was famously worn by Princess Diana.

The Attallah cross pendant, an antique amethyst piece, was worn by the late Princess of Wales in 1987 while attending a charity gala in London.

In the above photo, Princess Diana can be seen entering the event, which was in support of Birthright, a charity working towards the protection of human rights during pregnancy and childbirth.

A patron of the event, Diana made headlines wearing an Elizabethan-style dress from Catherine Walker along with the Garrard pendant.

Diana's relationship with the jeweler was long-standing, having selected her infamous sapphire and diamond engagement ring from the then-Royal Jeweller in 1981.

According to Ramsay Attallah, whose father, Naim Attallah, was joint managing director and eventually group chief executive of Asprey & Garrard, Diana borrowed the amethyst and diamond cross on many occasions.

Attallah acquired the cross shortly after her death and it remained with the family, unworn, until it eventually went up for at Sotheby’s London in 2022, making it one of the few jewels worn by the Princess to ever be sold at auction.

Sotherby's Royal and Noble sale saw the Fleurée cross sold to Kim Kardashian for £163,800 - well above the £80-120,000 estimate.

Styled by long-time stylist Dani Levi for the LACMA gala, the reality TV star and entrepreneur layered the iconic piece with some dazzling pieces including an incredible pearl choker.

The custom Gucci dress, which featured a plunging neckline, was inspired by a silk jersey dress from Gucci that was designed by past Creative Director, Tom Ford, in 2004.

Kardashian's 'short and sweet' hairstyle was delivered by Chris Appleton who created a deep side part, flipped ends, and detail bangs around the face.

Celebrity make-up artist Rokael Lizama completed the look with a bronzed smokey eye, full brows, and a light nude lip.
