Some differences make a couple stronger, and others can be the breaking of them. For First Daters Hannah and Conor, they found plenty to connect over during their sweet date, from a love for travel to how to pronounce 'scone' and 'yogurt'.
Hailing from Wiltshire in the UK and a self-confessed 'mummy's boy', Conor, 26, flew in for his turn in the First Dates restaurant, making his arguably one of the longest commutes for a date in the show's history.
On top of the trek, the 6'5" junior doctor teased to producers that by the time he was having his pre-date chat, he'd already done "six fingers up bottoms" thanks to his work, so it sounded like any date would be an improvement on that.
Thankfully, Hannah - a special needs assistant and part-time model from Cork - far exceeded his expectations. At 5'10", she strode into the restaurant, charming Matteo with a bit of Croatian before meeting her dashing date.
The pair quickly revealed that they had ties on both sides of the pond, with Conor's mam hailing from Raheny in North Dublin and Hannah's mam coming from North Wales. Both have spent time going back and forth, with Conor now coincidentally based in Swansea.
Despite being a "terrible dater" by his own admission, the pair were swapping stories of their travels and work in no time. Conor spoke about his experience working in the NHS, the highs and the devastating lows.
By the time mains arrived, it seemed like the pair were on a good track, despite both telling producers that dating isn't their forte. "I seem to go for funny, kind girls - or whoever will take me!" Conor laughed, while Hannah said she tends to "word vomit" on a first date.
But from the outside, the pair couldn't have gotten along better - especially when it comes to pronounciation.
Having learned that Conor's grandfather is a sir, Hannah couldn't help but ask how he pronounces 'scone'. To her delight, it was the same as her: rhyming with 'gone', not 'tone'.
From there, it was a straight shoot to a second date, after the pair agreed to meet again. They rounded out the night with cocktails on the town.
