It's a match for First Daters who discover they share a birthday

When it comes to finding your one true love, somethings are better agreed upon - music taste, life values and whether you're a fan of the big light or not. For First Daters Jules and Dylan, however, they got off to a great start with one key factor already matching: their birthdays.

Hailing from Wicklow and currently in a band with his brother, Dylan was keen to find the Joan Baez to his Bod Dylan (his namesake), and when bubbly '1940's pinup girl' Jules strode in with her vintage Marks and Spencer's dress from her mam and a bright yellow record case, he knew he'd found a hit.

By the time they'd ordered their drinks the pair had made a discovery of their own: they're shared a birthday, 25 March. Not only that, but they were in excellent company - Aretha Franklin, Elton John and Sarah Jessica Parker.

Jules

When asked if music taste was important to him, Dylan said it was. "I really connect with people through music and if they're like, no, I don't like music at all, I'd be like, what are we going to talk about for the next two hours?"

"It's just a huge part of my life so if I can't bond with somebody over that, I'd be like, ah, that's a shame."

As fate would have it, Jules was named for another music legend: Jules Holland. So it was clear that music was right through their DNA.

That said, there was one missed note. Despite sharing a far-ranging musical taste between them, when it came to food Dylan wasn't as worldly as Jules.

"Food is really, really important to me. It's my love language, I love cooking for people. I love trying new things. I probably eat more sushi than I do potatoes", Jules said.

Dylan

For self confessed "plain eater" Dylan, his go-to food spot is the same restaurant he's been to in the same town he's been going to for years - if it ain't broke, right? In contrast, Jules' mam owned her own restaurant and her parents met while working in a restaurant.

Now, she takes herself out for dinner on her own all the time: "I don't wait for someone to come with me."

Would that be enough to ruin their harmonious duet, though? After their date, the couple agreed to keep the music going, going on to date after the show ended.
